Role OverviewSyntage is seeking an IT & Automation Manager to serve as the technical owner of our internal systems, IT infrastructure, and process automations. This role bridges the gap between business operations and technology. You will act as an internal consultant outlining high-level technical strategies, while also personally executing the hands-on development—including software integrations, AI adoption, and workflow automations. Additionally, you will manage the company's foundational cybersecurity posture and day-to-day IT administration.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Process Engineering(Core Expectation) Conduct needs assessments with department leads to identify operational bottlenecks and manual processes. Translate non-technical business requirements into actionable architectural designs and technical scopes. Act as an internal consultant, proposing ROI-driven technology implementations. Manage change adoption by providing training, documentation, and ongoing support for newly implemented tools. Automation, Integration & AI Implementation Design, build, and maintain system integrations across our SaaS ecosystem utilizing REST APIs, webhooks, and middleware platforms (e.g., Zapier, Make, n8n) or custom scripts (Python, JavaScript). Evaluate, test, and deploy AI tools to automate routine operational tasks. Administer databases and ensure data integrity as information flows between the CRM, ERP, and operational software. IT Administration & Security Administer core software platforms and directories, including [Google Workspace / Microsoft 365]. Manage the employee technology lifecycle, including hardware provisioning and onboarding/offboarding technical access. Enforce cybersecurity best practices, managing Identity and Access Management (IAM), SSO, MFA, and endpoint security. Manage IT vendor relationships, negotiate SaaS contracts, and monitor software spend to systematically prevent tool sprawl.Required Qualifications & SkillsTechnical Experience: 5+ years of hybrid experience spanning IT Administration, Systems Architecture, Technical Operations, Business Process Engineering, or Software Integration. Demonstrated experience managing technology projects end-to-end within an SMB or startup environment. Strong understanding of cloud-based SaaS ecosystems, APIs, and relational data structures. High proficiency in building complex workflows using middleware (e.g., n8n, Make, Zapier) or lightweight scripting. Practical knowledge of applying AI tools to everyday business workflows. Foundational understanding of cybersecurity risk management, network security, and data privacy protocols.Soft Skills & Behavioral Competencies: Communication:Proven ability to effectively translate business needs into technical scopes, and explain complex technical concepts and security requirements to non-technical stakeholders with patience and clarity.
