Amazon Operations Brazil is seeking a full-time Occupational Health and Safety specialist to work in the designated Fulfillment Center (FC), coordinating and implementing all areas of the Amazon Global Program and local regulations, as directed by the leadership. The specialist promotes a positive culture, complies with Amazon standards and maintains a safe work environment. This includes conducting training and educating associates on observed work habits.
Key Job Responsibilities
Identify and inform management about compliance issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement through daily, weekly, and monthly audits;
Facilitate the incident investigation process;
Maintain the necessary documentation to comply with local and Amazon requirements;
Enter the incident information in the internal database in a timely manner;
Perform inspections and audits;
Train and help others (area managers, team members, etc.) to fulfill their responsibilities (audits, follow rules, etc.);
Perform specific training as required;
Have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other related activities, depending on the business unit and location;
Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions until completion;
Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to local management teams and corporate reporting systems;
Support management efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and with applicable federal and state laws;
Perform risk assessments related to the work carried out (Occupational Risk Analysis) and the introduction of new equipment;
Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Experience with workplace health & safety (WHS) related field
Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
Experience using Microsoft Office in a professional capacity
Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security or personnel issues in the workplace
English (intermediate to conversation)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in emergency response
Experience in worker's compensation case management
