Description Job Title: Program and Patient Coordinator Location: Sao Paulo, Brazil Reports To: Program Manager General Description: The Program Coordinator position is responsible for supporting and facilitating the planning, coordination and follow-up of surgical and education programs as well as supporting patient management activities. This includes facilitating patient recruitment, patient referrals, sequencing patients for surgery, coordinating surgical training rotations and visiting professorships, and clearing cargo. The Program Coordinator will report to the Program Manager but will also collaborate with departments to facilitate successful and safe programs. The Program Coordinator will also facilitate relationships with necessary government, hospital, and other stakeholders in order to implement these programs. Essential Functions: Surgical Programs – Planning, Implementation and Administration: Coordinate annual program plan activities, including patient recruitment trips, hospital visits, surgical training rotations, and missions. Plan and implement surgical programs, managing logistics for volunteers, patients, and hospitals. Ensure program safety based on Global Standards of Care in collaboration with medical leadership. Provide reports on programs, including feedback to sponsors and volunteers. Build partnerships with NGOs and explore collaboration opportunities. Patient Recruitment and Referrals: Help develop and implement a patient recruitment strategy for cleft patients with support from the Program Manager. Collaborate with government liaisons, patient advocates, development partners and other stakeholders. Manage patient referral process and patient database, and its integration into the patient recruitment strategy and surgical delivery programs. Support patient recruitment with our partners. Communication and Collaboration: Provide support and maintain communication with Program Manager, Executive Director, other departments at HQ, and other partners during the planning, execution, and follow-up phases of all programs. Qualifications Experience Required (education/work) : Bachelor’s degree in Events Management, Business, Social Sciences, Non-profit Management, Public Health, International Relations or a related field. 2 years of international program / project experience or events planning 2 years of office experience. Excellent oral and written English communication skills required. Work experience in an international NGO context and medical field exposure would be helpful.
