Job Description
This role is responsible for leading the development and implementation of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, focusing on infrastructure related to manufacturing information systems.
The ideal candidate will serve as a technical expert in this area, identifying methods and architecting solutions to provide high-quality services to end-users. They will also be responsible for building out, maintaining, and troubleshooting rapidly expanding application systems and their infrastructure.
This position requires collaboration with other engineers, analysts, and leadership to obtain regular feedback on design and execution. Additionally, the engineer will provide periodic operational support and maintenance of manufacturing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain, optimize, troubleshoot, upgrade, install, and document PLM system infrastructure
* Administer new and existing technologies, including design, documentation, installation, configuration, maintenance, integration, and testing
* Lead collaborative efforts with business customers on hardware, middleware, and application requirements
* Collaborate with vendors, engineers, analysts, and leadership to ensure database integrity, application software, and data quality
* Perform regular system monitoring and verify the integrity, health, and availability of all systems and key processes
* Lead problem-solving efforts regarding system and service matters and facilitate support with outside personnel, organizations, or vendors when necessary
* Monitor industry trends and bring new ideas and innovative solutions
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a similar field, or equivalent work experience. Preferred: PLM certification.
Technical Expertise:
* Hands-on experience with ARAS (PLM tool) and SolidWorks (CAD system)
* Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in a factory or enterprise setting
* Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with PLM
* Technical expertise with PLM systems such as CAD, PDM, ERP, PMO
Soft Skills:
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
* Able to explain and present technical information effectively
* Effectively train and advise users on information technology issues
* Strong analytical, multitasking, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a factory environment, technical experience with database management and language (SQL, Oracle), able to work independently and in a team environment, resilient, self-motivated, and able to work well under pressure.
