The Splicing Manager / Supervisor provides in-market, field-based oversight of fiber-optic splicing crews across multiple project locations. This role is responsible for directing day-to-day splicing activities, coordinating workflow, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and serving as the primary field point of contact. The position is travel-heavy and focused on leadership, guidance, and accountability.
This role requires travel to various markets on the East Coast, as needed. We're looking for someone with a decent grasp of day-to-day splicing.
Key Responsibilities
Be physically present in assigned markets to oversee daily splicing operations
Direct and prioritize splicing crews’ day-to-day activities and work plans
Serve as the main field liaison between splicing crews, project management, and construction teams
Ensure splicing work is performed according to project specifications, quality standards, and schedules
Monitor progress, productivity, and workmanship throughout the workday
Review and verify splice documentation, test results, and as-built information
Identify and resolve field issues and resource needs
Enforce safety compliance and jobsite standards in accordance with OSHA and company policies
Report daily production status, issues, and manpower needs to management
Qualifications
3+ years of fiber-optic splicing experience
Prior experience leading or supervising splicing crews
Strong understanding of OSP splicing processes, quality standards, and testing requirements
Ability to interpret fiber prints, splice diagrams, and route maps
Strong organizational and communication skills
Comfortable traveling and remaining in project markets as needed
Proficient with field documentation tools and basic computer applications
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel
