Senior Data Scientist – Language Experience

What You'll Do
* Lead design and AI‑driven solutions that streamline internal translation workflows, boost translation project managers' productivity, and improve quality and efficiency of translation delivery overall.
* Own the AI solution architecture, executing prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, embeddings, vector stores, model orchestration, and integration with microservices/APIs across cloud and on‑premise.
* Define KPIs (quality estimates, throughput, turnaround, post‑edit effort), run experiments, and iterate MVPs with stakeholders.
* Implement monitoring, human‑in‑the‑loop review workflows, model governance, and safeguards to reduce mistranslations and protect sensitive content.
* Collaborate with AI scientists, engineers, architects, and product teams to deliver new and improve existing features.
* Drive and complete any and all discussions related to data needs, data protection, compliance processes, etc., related to the usage of data in AI use cases.
* Drive innovation by assessing new technology, tools, and infrastructure to evolve our highly used cloud‑based functionalities and services.
* Execute with an enterprise cloud mindset to ensure security, compliance, and efficient deployment of AI applications.
* Mentor junior data scientists and provide technical guidance to the team.
What You Bring
* Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, or a related field. Additional linguistic studies and/or language skills are beneficial.
* Experience in AI models' evaluation and evaluation metrics.
* Advanced programming skills in Python, and experience with AI frameworks.
* Experience with AI offerings on hyperscale platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
* Practical data analysis skills, with BI tools, dashboarding, and statistical evaluation.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex projects with a focus on innovation and technological excellence.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to quickly acquire a thorough understanding of new technological areas.
* Full professional proficiency in English (both spoken and written).
* Understanding of translation workflows is a plus.

The Language Experience (LX) is responsible for the translation of products in SAP‑supported languages. The LX team is building a cloud‑based Translation solution to support our business.
