Podcast Audio Editor Role Overview
This is a contract remote position for an experienced audio editor to work closely with the content team to maintain brand consistency and meet deadlines efficiently.
Job Description:
* Edit raw podcast audio into polished, broadcast-ready episodes
* Remove filler words, false starts, redundancies, and off-topic tangents
* Improve pacing, clarity, and flow without changing the speaker's voice or intent
* Restructure sections when needed based on how questions were answered
* Insert intro/outro, sponsor reads, disclaimers, or updates when required
Required Skills & Qualifications:
To be successful in this role you should have strong editorial judgment — you know what to cut and why. You must have excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely. Experience working with physician- expert-level conversations is necessary as well as proficiency in Audio Editing software such as Adobe Audition.
Familiarity with sound design principles including knowledge of sound production basics will also be beneficial. Fast turnaround times are required which means being able to work independently while still effectively communicating with teams.
The ideal candidate has proven experience editing long-form podcasts (interview or narrative style) demonstrating their ability to deliver high-quality output within tight deadlines.
The following skills will also be valuable: Sound Design -to enhance audio files using background elements;knowledge of Sound Production - incorporating music seamlessly into content
