The Regional Category Buyer is responsible for managing and optimizing the sourcing and procurement activities for specific Indirect Material categories within AGCO’s South American region. This role involves developing sourcing strategies, identifying and qualifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings and process improvements. The buyer collaborates with cross‑functional teams while establishing strong stakeholder relationships to ensure best‑in‑class execution of category priorities.
Impact
Initiate and manage complex sourcing projects for several Indirect Material categories including MRO, Facilities, Services, Capex and Utilities.
Work closely with senior managers of related business units, the Global Category Manager and other Category Buyers to define strategies and initiate sourcing projects.
Match procurement and business strategies to find the best sourcing opportunities, and help develop and improve Indirect Material main categories (nest strategies, processes or new ways of working).
Use indirect procurement tools such as Sourcing Pipeline, e‑Sourcing and reporting tools to gain visibility on spend, create status updates and business cases.
Manage negotiations and complex regional tenders (RFP, RFQ, RFI) independently, and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with business strategies.

Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 3 years in category management, strategic sourcing or procurement, preferably within indirect procurement.
Advanced English proficiency, excellent MS Excel skills, and strong general IT literacy.
Expertise in category‑specific sourcing strategies, supplier management and contract negotiation.
Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders in a cross‑functional, regional environment.
Strong business acumen and strategic thinking to drive procurement initiatives effectively.
