Position: Analyst - Accounts Receivable/ Demurrage & Detention
Job Purpose: This role plays a key part in ensuring the efficient management of our Accounts Receivable and Demurrage & Detention (D&D) processes, such as analyzing financial data, resolving customer inquiries, and identifying areas for improvement in our billing and collection processes.
Main responsabilities and assignments: Analyze Demurrage and Detention (D&D) and freights claims submitted by customers.Ensure proper application of D&D charges according to contracts and industry regulations.Calculate and collect D&D fees owed by customers.Investigate and resolve discrepancies in D&D claims.Maintain accurate records of D&D activity.Identify trends and opportunities for optimizing D&D revenue.Research and stay current on industry best practices related to Accounts Receivable and D&D management.Billing freight and D&D charges adopting strategies to avoid billing errors.Credit process conduction (application and control).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Monitoring and reconciling collection portfolios;Managing customer requests and coordinating actions with responsible parties;Taking the necessary actions to keep information updated in our systems;Analyzing internal data with the aim of correcting possible errors for our customers; Specific knowledge: Demurrage & DetentionAccounts ReceivableAdvanced English is mandatorySAPWorking knowledge of International Commercial Terms (Incoterms) is a plus. Minimum Required Experience: 4-8 years of experience in a similar role within the shipping industry. Degree: Bachelor's degree in finance, international trade or a related field.
