In this role, you will work closely with commissioning teams, architects, engineers, construction managers, network and operations teams, and finance partners to streamline the delivery of new data center capacity. You will drive execution across scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring all projects are commissioned to the owner’s standards and transitioned smoothly into operation.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary on-site Commissioning Manager for assigned data center projects.Report commissioning progress, risks, and KPIs to Regional and Director-level leadership.Lead end-to-end commissioning activities, including planning, execution, QA/QC reviews, and schedule control.Develop, refine, and implement commissioning standards, procedures, and best practices.Identify and integrate quality and cost-effective solutions into commissioning processes.Oversee and manage contracted Commissioning Agents to ensure performance and compliance.Conduct regular construction site inspections to assess QA/QC, commissioning status, and safety considerations.Track and report commissioning issues, metrics, and risk items, escalating when necessary.Coordinate with clients, partners, and vendor Project Managers to align scope, schedule, and budget.Participate in owner/architect/contractor (OAC) and project coordination meetings.Maintain accurate, timely reporting on commissioning scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables.Manage and update the commissioning schedule to ensure project milestones are met.Support strategy development and continuous improvement of commissioning policies and methodologies.Ensure contract compliance and performance oversight for all vendors involved in commissioning activities.Maintain full on-site presence, including Saturdays during critical commissioning phases, with minimal travel.Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseRequired/Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field AND 2+ years Commissioning Management or relevant technical engineering experience.2+ years of experience in datacenter facilities (maintenance, operations, construction, commissioning).2+ years of construction experience with new build/greenfield projects.2+ years of experience with electrical and mechanical test equipment.Preferred/Additional QualificationsPrior experience with construction QA/QC, and project management.Knowledge in datacenter commissioning, as well as datacenter operations and maintenance.Understanding of Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) systems, switchgears, generators, and critical mechanical systems.Prior experience writing Commissioning Scripts.Experience with issue identification and resolution management.Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and MS Project.Seniority levelMid‑Senior levelEmployment typeTemporaryJob functionManagementIndustriesConstruction, Architecture and Planning, and Engineering ServicesReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Soben by 2x
