About the Community Manager Role
As a community manager, you will lead daily interactions with users on various platforms. This involves starting conversations, replying thoughtfully, maintaining guidelines, and nurturing a welcoming environment.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Community Leadership: Lead daily interactions primarily on Reddit, X, and Discord—start conversations, reply thoughtfully, maintain guidelines, and nurture a welcoming environment.
* Engagement Initiatives: Organize recurring events such as AMAs, Q&As, user features, and community challenges to boost engagement and community spirit.
* Community Insights: Identify user sentiment trends, gather feedback, and proactively share actionable insights with Product, Support, and Marketing teams.
* Moderation & Empathy: Uphold community standards by moderating conversations, removing spam, managing conflict, and resolving situations with empathy.
* Metrics & Growth: Track community health metrics (active users, retention, engagement) and suggest strategic improvements.
* Platform Expertise: Fully leverage moderation tools, bots, roles, and automations within Reddit and Discord to enhance user experience.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should have at least 1–2 years of experience managing or moderating active communities. You must be able to write clearly and communicate effectively to engage and nurture active, text-based communities.
Nice-to-Haves:
You may also consider having experience managing virtual community events, a background in journalism, digital communication, or privacy-related fields, familiarity with platforms like Telegram, Slack, or Facebook Groups, or a proven ability in creating engaging community content.
