You'll collaborate closely with game designers, engineers, UI artists, and narrative designers to ensure the whole game feels cohesive, intuitive, and emotionally resonant.What You'll DoLead UX thinking across major systems, ensuring that core mechanics (e.G., combat, dungeons, item use, turn management) feel intuitive, satisfying, and player-first.Design flows, wireframes, and interaction prototypes to support key experiences, not just interfaces.Collaborate with designers to improve the feel and clarity of core game mechanics.Identify friction points across the entire gameplay loop and propose smart, genre-aware solutions.Bridge the Design Team with other teams to ensure that visual and technical execution supports both usability and emotional tone.Use tools like Figma, Miro, and Unity to develop and communicate UX intent and build low-fidelity prototypes.Research and document genre conventions (especially JRPGs), identifying good practices and opportunities for innovation.Help define usability testing plans and translate feedback into actionable iterations.Advocate for accessibility, clarity, and joy in every part of the game, even those without a single UI element.What We're Looking ForExperience as a senior or lead UI/UX designer on at least one shipped game or app.A portfolio demonstrating strong visual design, user flows, and UX strategy.Experience working directly with engineers and shipping UI in a game engine (ideally Unity).Experience designing UX in game development, ideally on games with layered systems and mechanics.A player-first mindset: designing with emotional clarity, pacing, and flow in mind.Strong UX fundamentals: flow design, interaction principles, usability best practices.Excellent communication skills; ability to explain reasoning, take feedback, and build alignment.Comfort owning initiatives and proactively improving player experience across disciplines.Passion for system-heavy or narrative-rich games, especially RPGs, strategy, or adventure titles.Bonus Points ForExperience designing for console or controller-first games.Motion or interaction design skills for feedback and transitions.Game design literacy, especially engaging in design discussions beyond UX.Familiarity with accessibility design for games.To ApplyEmail us your resume and portfolio, and feel free to include any details about yourself you'd like to share.
