We are seeking a remote, full-time Data Specialist with 5+ years of experience in data analysis, validation, and transformation. This role focuses on reviewing and validating data from multiple sources, ensuring accurate mapping into standardized formats, and maintaining high data quality across pipelines. Their software connects people, equipment, and facilities to provide enterprise-wide visibility and data-driven insights that fuel asset optimization, improve operational efficiency, and help organizations manage risk, maintenance, and fuel logistics more effectively.ResponsibilitiesData Validation & Quality AssuranceAnalyze raw data from clients, devices, and external sourcesValidate that data is correctly processed, transformed, and storedIdentify inconsistencies, anomalies, and data quality issuesEnsure outputs match expected results after processingReview and validate data mappings created by engineering teamsEnsure raw data is accurately converted into standard formatsCollaborate with data engineers to refine and improve mapping logicTake ownership of data quality across systems and workflowsEstablish and enforce best practices for data validation and integrityAct as a guide for teams to ensure reliable data processingWork closely with data engineering, application engineering, and product teams to ensure alignment on data needsProvide feedback on data issues and recommend improvementsBridge the gap between raw data ingestion and business-ready datasetsRequired ExperienceExcellent written and verbal English communication skills5+ years of data validation experienceStrong analytical mindset with a focus on data quality and validationExperience working with structured and semi-structured dataAbility to interpret and validate data transformations and mappingsSolid understanding of SQL and data queryingExperience working in data pipelines or data engineering environmentsHands-on experience with data formats such as CSV, JSON, XML, and flat filesFamiliarity with SQL-compliant databasesExposure to AWS-based data environmentsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsPreferred ExperienceExperience with Apache Iceberg and working with event-based or sensor data (e.g., fuel systems, industrial, or IoT data) is a plus.Experience with data platforms such as Apache Iceberg (or similar)Additional InformationEnjoy a fun, fast-growing entrepreneurial companyBe part of a highly collaborative learning culture, share knowledge, be inclusive, learn, and grow together.
