Summary: Cost Analyst
The Cost Analyst is responsible for gathering, evaluating, and applying appropriate costs associated with new or existing projects for one or more packaging products, with a focus on global data gathering and analysis. The cost analyst will also be responsible for developing approaches for direct procurement, negotiating with suppliers, and assessing supplier performance across contract terms. Furthermore, as the analyst integrates into the organization, they will be expected to handle a variety of financial, pricing, procurement, category support, and implementation activities to assist sales and product managers as needed, often in flux, and prioritizing multiple, competing, demands. The ideal cost analyst becomes a product, network, and visionary consultant, essential to the continued success of OIA, and a desired voice of strategic input.

Duties and Responsibilities
Gathering, compiling, and preparing project cost analysis while exercising strong attention to detail, accuracy, and providing prompt delivery to stakeholders within tight timelines
Identifying, documenting, and enacting process improvements to better align procurement activities with corporate strategy or improve costing timelines
Collaborating with Project Managers, Sales, and International Staff on complex projects for large multinational brands, including the management of the RFQ process with suppliers
Ongoing analysis of supplier costs and structures, using cost references, historical data, proprietary understanding of production processes, or product features
Collecting, Confirming, and Final Review of supplier selection, terms, and conditions, buy price, and sales price for all projects to meet client or strategic objectives.
Working with regional costing and support staff to provide project context and overall corporate direction to ensure quotation accuracy and usefulness
Ad hoc supplier reviews – performance tracking, margin analysis, program performance and purchase reviews, QBR administration, balanced scorecard implementation, and metadata management
Cadence based project volume and allocation analysis
Assisting finance manager with ad hoc financial or project-based costing and pricing assignments
Creating, updating, and maintaining documentation related to costing processes, analysis methods, or standard engagement procedures

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field, or four years of supply chain work experience.
At least one year of relevant work experience, preferably in a role with financial emphasis or exposure
Corrugated paper industry experience is a plus.
Familiarity with or coursework in financial, sourcing, and cost accounting principles is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
