The Opportunity Legal Counsel at Worldline Global Collect in Brazil (belonging to the Worldline Group) Reports to Legal Manager for Americas Worldline Global Collect Provides one single integration with our global payment platform and connects merchants to markets around the world. Over 150 payment methods and currencies deliver a fully localized payment experience to customers anywhere, on any device. With our Full-Service model merchants are able to collect those payments from around the world without the need for a local bank account or legal entity. In this role you will provide guidance, advice, and oversight for legal as well as business decisions and contract negotiations. You will be part of a legal team. You will report directly to the Legal Manager Americas. We are always looking for new and innovative ways to improve quality, reduce costs, build excellent solutions, and grow customer happiness. We would like to welcome an organized, innovative and process driven colleague to our team. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Drafting, structuring, review and legal analysis of wide range of contracts (Project and framework agreements with our Merchants, SLAs, NDAs, intercompany agreements, outsourcing agreements, lease agreements, etc) with customers (merchants and financial institutions), payment schemes, payment industry partners, acquirers, banks, suppliers in relation to payment services, IT services, regulated fintech services, etc. Legal support and advice to all internal divisions for all legal topics with focus on payment related legal matters (senior management, finance, business, operations, risk and compliance, IT, audit, etc) and support with regard to Worldline Group Merchant Services, Growth and M&A projects. Liaising and coordination with external stakeholders (external lawyers, external auditors, regulators in specific cases and for interpretation of legal and regulatory requirements) and with legal and cross functional colleagues throughout the Worldline group. - Maintain intra-group litigation report and consumer claims in Brazil - Legal research and interpretation of Brazilian and Latin America laws and regulations - Follow up and updates of delegation of authorities and signatory powers and collaborate with corporate matters in Latin America entities. - Focus on the protection and defence of the legal entities in Latin America and the Worldline group’s interests Who Are We Looking For - Degree (Brazil law degree preferred, or other LATAM countries certifications) - At least 5 years’ experience in Brazil or in Latin America regional positions as attorney at law in an international law firm, and/or as in-house counsel in a bank or regulated Fintech/financial institution - Capacity to identify the roles, obligations and responsibilities of each party, and more generally good understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the actors in the payment industry - Business oriented, bearing in mind the bigger picture. Capacity to search for answers and solve problems, capacity to focus on the final objective - Very good drafting skills. Ability to summarize in comprehensive manner (non-legal language) and provide synthesis to business - Interpersonal skills and relationship management - Strong team player with high self-motivation and positive attitude - Perfect fluency (oral and written) in Portuguese and English.
