About the role
We're hiring a Klaviyo Account Manager to lead retention for a portfolio of 6 to 7 high growth DTC ecommerce brands. This isn't a \"send the emails\" role. We position ourselves as retention partners, not vendors. That means going deep into each client's business, understanding their margins, customer lifecycle, brand voice, and product roadmap, then building a Klaviyo strategy that actually moves the P&L.
You'll own strategy, copy direction, the client relationship, and a small pod of two people (a designer and a Klaviyo implementation specialist who builds your designs out inside the platform). You'll write the copy yourself, leveraging AI and our internal prompt libraries to move faster and better. You'll have meaningful room to grow with the agency.
A bit about us
We're a small, scrappy retention agency working with 7, 8, and 9 figure DTC brands. We're early in our build out, which means a few things: there's no bureaucracy, decisions move fast, the work you do shapes how the agency operates, and strong people get more responsibility quickly. We're growing, and we want the people we hire now to grow with us as we scale.
If you're the kind of person who looks at a small team and thinks \"I can help build this,\" instead of \"where's the org chart,\" you'll like it here.
What you'll own
Strategy. You set the retention strategy for each of your clients. Flow architecture, campaign calendars, segmentation, deliverability, A/B testing roadmap, all of it. You think like an operator, not just an email marketer.
Copy. You write the copy yourself, using our internal AI prompt libraries (Claude and ChatGPT) as leverage. You don't need to be a prompt engineer. Basic comfort with LLMs is enough, and we'll teach you the rest.
Client relationships. You're the face of the engagement. Some clients want weekly calls. Others prefer a clean weekly report and async Slack. You read the room and tailor it.
Team. You lead a small pod of two: a designer who creates the email visuals, and a technician who builds your designs into Klaviyo. You set the brief, review the work, and make sure everything ships on time at the quality bar your clients deserve.
Deliverables. The biggest measure of success here is simple: did the work get shipped, was it good, and is the client happy? We're not chasing vanity metrics. We're chasing a fulfilling, high quality service.
Who you are
You've worked inside Klaviyo before. You don't need 5 years of platform experience, but you understand the principles. Flows vs campaigns, segmentation, deliverability, list health, A/B testing. If we asked you to architect a welcome series or a winback flow, you'd know where to start.
You understand DTC ecommerce. Margins, AOV, LTV, product launches, post purchase journeys, the whole game. You can hold a real conversation with a 7 figure founder about their business.
You're a leader. You're going to be the most senior person on your pod. You give clear direction, take ownership when things go wrong, make your team better, and don't pass the buck. Equally important: you can listen, take feedback, and update your views when someone makes a better point. Strong opinions, loosely held.
You're strategic and intelligent. The work doesn't have to be perfect. Nothing ever is. But your thinking has to be sharp. Things change fast in DTC and inside our agency, and you have to adapt without melting down.
You're fluent in English. You'll be running calls with native English speaking founders.
You're AI curious. You don't need to be running custom GPTs on day one. But if your gut reaction to AI is \"this is going to take my job\" or \"I prefer doing it the old way,\" this role isn't for you. We use AI everywhere we can, and we'll teach you our stack.
What's in it for you
Real ownership. You run your pod like a mini agency inside the agency. You set the strategy, you direct the team, you own the client relationship. We don't micromanage.
Rapid growth. We're early stage. The people who help us build now will lead pods, then departments, as we scale. No waiting in line for a promotion. Do good work, get more responsibility, fast.
A masterclass in DTC retention. You'll work on 7, 8, and 9 figure brands, see what's actually working at scale, and build expertise that's worth real money in this market.
AI training. We'll teach you how to use Claude, ChatGPT, and our internal prompt libraries to make your copy and strategy work faster and better. By the end of year one, you'll be using AI in ways most marketers haven't figured out yet.
Flexible hours. We don't track time. As long as the work ships, clients are happy, and you're available when the team needs you, work whenever you do your best work.
A friendly team. We're not a punish heavy, \"perform or get fired\" shop. We're a small group that cares about the work and about each other. You'll have direct access to the founders.
Performance bonuses in time. As we grow, top performers will share in the upside.
Don't apply if
You wait to be told what to do. You're scared of AI or refuse to use it. You're shopping for a 6 month gig before your next move. You can't take feedback or admit when you're wrong.
Apply if
You want to own a portfolio, build a pod, learn DTC at depth, and grow fast inside a small team that's going somewhere.
