Job Description:
The Enterprise Architect will be centrally responsible for the strategic definition and implementation of enterprise architecture, working from the design and governance of systems to the integration of technological platforms and operational mining processes. Its mission is to translate business objectives into modern, secure and scalable architectures, aligned with international standards and the automation, sustainability and innovation goals.
This professional will work in partnership with the global Enterprise Architect and cross-functional areas (IT, Operations, Engineering, ESG), ensuring that each solution offers efficient integration between on-premises, cloud, and industrial automation environments.
Main Responsibilities
Define, document and evolve integrated Enterprise Architecture models (business, applications, data, technology), using frameworks such as TOGAF/ArchiMate and aligning with the strategic demands of mining, sustainability and digital transformation.
Act as a technical reference, leading cross-functional teams, promoting the consolidation of solutions between IT, OT and industrial automation, ensuring adherence to global corporate standards.
Evaluate and validate new technologies, platforms, services and methods (Cloud, Edge Computing, Digital Twins, IoT, Analytics, Cybersecurity), always considering the best practices in the mineral and natural resources sector.
Develop and maintain architectural criteria that prioritize security, regulatory compliance (LGPD, PIPEDA, GDPR), performance, sustainability and operational integration.
Prepare detailed documentation (LLD/HLD, reference architectures, guidelines), transferring knowledge and mentoring technical and business teams both locally and internationally.
Lead communication between technical, operations, engineering, and global leaders, promoting efficient collaboration and respecting cultural differences.
Continuously analyze technological, regulatory and business trends, proposing standards and improvements that position Vale as an international reference in sustainable and digital mining.
Participate directly in the supplier selection/merger processes, prioritizing interoperability, innovation and return on investment in critical projects.
Requirements and Competencies
Essential Requirements (Hard Skills)
Proven experience (minimum of 8 years in IT, with at least 5 as an enterprise architect or similar strategic role in Large Enterprise or mining/resources).
Deep knowledge of the mineral, energy or industrial sector, preferably previous experience in large global operations
Mastery of the main enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF: Practitioner, ArchiMate, Zachman, DAMA-DMBOK).
Excellence in the use of cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP) and data platforms, cross-system integration (ERP SAP/Oracle, SCADA, IIoT, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Lakehouse).
Ability to design hybrid architectures (on-premises, cloud, edge), industrial data integration (sensing, automation, dashboards, analytics).
Strong performance in compliance, industrial cybersecurity (OT/IT Convergence), data protection, disaster recovery and business continuity.
Experience in multinational/cross-border projects,
Fluent English (technical communication, executive meetings, documentation), advanced Portuguese is a strategic differential for integration between teams.
