The Grand Gardner Hotel is an Urschel Development property located in Downtown Valparaiso, IN. Urschel Development is a fully owned subsidiary of Urschel Laboratories located in Chesterton, Indiana. Opening in the second quarter of 2026, this independent boutique hotel is located on a quiet, tree-lined street just steps away from downtown Valparaiso. Servers must maintain a comprehensive understanding of ingredients and preparation methods to address dietary restrictions and provide pairing suggestions. Additionally, the role includes managing station side work, processing payments via the POS system, and collaborating closely with the culinary team to ensure seamless guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate is an engaging and efficient professional with a passion for high-end hospitality. Requirements include a thorough understanding of the "S.E.A.C." method of service, proficiency with POS software, and excellent communication skills. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for an 8-hour shift, carry service trays weighing up to 50 pounds, and move quickly to meet guest needs in a high-pressure environment. A positive, team-oriented attitude and previous experience in a full-service or boutique hotel restaurant are highly preferred.
