As the Head Butcher, you will lead our meat department, ensuring the highest quality of products and customer satisfaction while adhering to Halal practices and local regulations.Oversee daily operations of the butchery department, including staff management and schedulingEnsure compliance with food safety standards, Halal requirements, and local regulationsExpertly cut, prepare, and display a wide variety of meats according to customer preferences and Middle Eastern traditionsManage inventory, place orders, and maintain relationships with meat suppliersTrain and mentor junior butchers in proper cutting techniques and customer serviceProvide expert advice to customers on meat selection, preparation, and cooking methodsImplement and maintain quality control measures for all meat productsCollaborate with other departments to create special offerings and promotionsStay updated on industry trends and introduce new products or techniques as appropriateQualificationsMinimum 5-7 years of experience in butchery, with 2-3 years in a supervisory roleExpert knowledge of various meat cuts, preparation methods, and butchery techniquesProven leadership skills with the ability to train and manage a team effectivelyStrong understanding of food safety practices and Halal requirementsExcellent customer service skills and the ability to build relationships with clientsProficiency in inventory management and basic computer skills for ordering systemsHigh school diploma or equivalent; additional culinary education is a plusCurrent food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) and Halal certificationIn-depth knowledge of local and international meat grading systemsFamiliarity with Middle Eastern meat preferences and traditional cutsPhysical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy itemsAbility to work in a cold environment and handle sharp tools safelyExcellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is highly beneficialWillingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as neededAdditional InformationBeing a Raffles employee means embodying and conveying the brand and the company mindset through our Heartiest service culture.
