Quality Manager LATAM - Wind Projects

The Quality Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and overseeing quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) systems for onshore wind projects. This role ensures that all construction, installation, and commissioning activities comply with company standards, contractual requirements, OEM specifications, and Brazilian regulations.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain the project quality management plan, procedures, and inspection & test plans (ITPs) for wind farm projects.
Lead site QA/QC activities across civil works, foundations, towers, nacelles, blades, electrical balance of plant, and substations.
Coordinate and supervise inspections, tests, and audits; ensure proper documentation, non-conformance reporting (NCR), and timely corrective actions.
Review and approve quality documentation from EPCs, subcontractors, and OEMs (method statements, welding procedures, material certificates, FAT/SAT reports).
Monitor construction and installation quality, ensuring work is executed according to drawings, specifications, and OEM standards.
Manage NCRs, root cause analyses, and preventive measures; track and close punch lists and quality-related defects.
Interface with engineering, HSE, construction management, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
Ensure traceability and proper record keeping of materials, inspections, and tests for handover to operations and for warranty purposes.
Prepare regular quality reports (KPIs, NCR trends, audit findings) for senior management and project stakeholders.
Provide training and guidance to site teams and subcontractors on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or related discipline.
Several years of experience in QA/QC or quality management within wind, power generation, or large infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001) and relevant standards for civil, mechanical, and electrical works.
Familiarity with wind turbine technology, foundations, lifting/installation processes, and HV/MV systems.
Experience leading audits, inspections, and managing NCR and corrective action processes.
Proficient in technical documentation, reporting, and use of digital quality/inspection tools.
Strong communication and leadership skills; able to challenge and support contractors constructively.
Fluency in English ideal
