Urban Development Specialists are required to contribute to the design and implementation of integrated urban development strategies.
The role involves working with EU, EIB, and WB financed projects, focusing on regional and urban development, urban buildings and social infrastructure, economic development, and disaster risk management.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's or Bachelor's degree relevant to the topic and at least 10 years of professional experience in the field.
Key skills include:
* Urban planning, urban renewal, and regeneration
* Transition to a climate-neutral economy and environmental sustainability
* Carbon neutral cities, land use and transport integration, transit-oriented development, and sustainable urban mobility plans
* Smart cities, eco-districts, brownfield regeneration, cultural heritage, and urban/regional climate mitigation & adaptation
* Territorial governance mechanisms and partnerships, territorial just transition plans, and similar
* Urban buildings and social infrastructure in the context of integrated urban/regional development, including urban infrastructure, municipal utilities, green buildings, and business infrastructure
* Economic development, including tourism development, access to finance, employment creation, skills development, and productive investments in large enterprises
* Disaster Risk Management (DRM), covering all stages of the DRM-cycle, in relation to natural and man-made disasters
* Social and Affordable Housing, involving projects and programmes for social and affordable housing construction and renovation, and the development and application of social and affordable housing finance approaches and instruments

A strong understanding of territorial impact assessment and the ability to work with territorial governance mechanisms and partnerships is highly desirable.
