Our client is a growing mining company currently transitioning from exploration through project development and into operations, with strong expansion plans beyond this first phase that will position it as a significant gold producer in the Brazilian market. The business is entering a critical phase, combining operational ramp-up with multiple capital projects.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Business / Commercial Analyst to support the organization during its transition into production while enabling future growth through capital expansion projects.
This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the VP of Project Development, with cross-functional exposure across operations, finance, projects, and executive leadership, including interaction with senior stakeholders.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving business planning, performance analysis, and financial modeling to support strategic and operational decision-making.
Accountabilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Manage the business planning process, including coordination, preparation, and continuous improvement
* Analyze and report on key business performance metrics across operations, projects, and exploration
* Prepare and deliver monthly management reports, covering operational, construction, and improvement initiatives
* Develop, maintain, and enhance the project financial model
* Support capital allocation processes, including preparation of investment proposals (CAPEX requests)
* Prepare executive presentations and communications for internal stakeholders and senior leadership
* Act as a business partner across multiple functions, supporting data-driven decision-making
* Contribute to the development of processes, governance, and performance management frameworks
* Identify and drive business improvement initiatives to increase the capital efficiency of the assets
* Management of 1-2 employees reporting directly to the role
Requirements
The ideal candidate must have:
* Technical degree in Business Administration / Economics / Engineering + business/analytics specialization + industry exposure.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in business analysis within the mining industry, can be across different mining commodities (e.g., gold, iron ore, base metals, etc.)
* Strong background supporting both project development and operational phases
* Advanced proficiency in financial modeling (Excel) and presentation tools (PowerPoint)
* Experience working in capital-intensive environments with multiple projects (CAPEX)
* Ability to operate effectively in a cross-functional and fast-evolving environment
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence interacting with senior leadership and Board level
* Advanced or fluent English is mandatory (daily interaction)

Work Model: This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility between on-site and remote work:
* Approximately 50% of the time based on site (operations/projects in Para State)
