Position Summary
The Logistics Manager is responsible for leading and governing end-to-end logistics operations across multiple manufacturing plants within the Defense sector. This role ensures secure, compliant, and efficient inbound and outbound logistics, inter‑plant material flows, fleet management, and shipping operations. The position plays a strategic role in digital transformation initiatives, requiring proven experience in WMS implementation and strong knowledge of Industry 4.0 applied to highly regulated defense manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute the logistics strategy for multi‑plant defense operations, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, security requirements, and regulatory compliance.
Lead and standardize inbound and outbound logistics processes across all plants, ensuring material traceability, availability, and on‑time delivery.
Oversee shipping and dispatch logistics, including coordination with certified carriers, documentation control, and compliance with defense, export control, and security regulations.
Manage and optimize inter‑plant logistics, ensuring synchronized material flow, production continuity, and inventory accuracy across sites.
Oversee fleet management, including secure transportation, routing optimization, maintenance, and cost control.
Lead the end‑to‑end implementation, rollout, and continuous improvement of the WMS, ensuring full integration with ERP and manufacturing systems.
Drive Industry 4.0 logistics initiatives, including automation, real‑time inventory visibility, data analytics, traceability, and system interoperability.
Establish and monitor logistics KPIs, such as OTIF, inventory accuracy, lead time, logistics cost, and compliance metrics.
Ensure full compliance with defense industry standards, internal security policies, and applicable national and international regulations.
Manage logistics budgets, contracts, and cost‑reduction initiatives without compromising security or service level.
Lead, develop, and evaluate multi‑site logistics teams, promoting a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Act as a key interface with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Security, IT, and external logistics partners.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.
Proven experience as a Logistics Manager in multi‑plant industrial operations, preferably within the Defense sector.
Proven track record in WMS implementation, including system selection, rollout, stabilization, and optimization.
Strong knowledge of Industry 4.0 concepts applied to logistics, such as automation, digital traceability, IoT, and data‑driven decision‑making.
Solid experience managing inbound, outbound, fleet, and inter‑plant logistics in regulated environments.
Strong leadership, risk management, and stakeholder coordination skills.
Experience managing KPIs, budgets, and logistics contracts.
Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with defense or aerospace compliance frameworks and export control regulations.
Experience integrating ERP, WMS, and MES systems.
Knowledge of Lean Logistics, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Experience managing certified carriers and third‑party logistics providers (3PL).
