A key responsibility of this academic role is to ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning experiences for students.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in Accounting and/or Business Studies Teaching Specialisations, with a Master's Degree in the relevant field. They should also have at least 2-3 years of lecturing experience in these specialisations.
This academic position requires the ability to facilitate modules via webinars or face-to-face sessions, ensuring alignment with the institution's Teaching and Learning Strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality academic content for the Learner Management System (LMS), as well as quality assurance and sign-off of allocated modules.
Additional responsibilities include assessing student performance, setting and marking assessments, and participating in AVC and pre-/post-assessment moderation processes. The ideal candidate will be able to work within pre-determined time frames and deadlines, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and collegiality.
In terms of skills and qualifications, the successful candidate will need to be familiar with distance and online education, as well as using learning management systems. They should also have a working knowledge of the South African higher education regulatory framework and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
