This position will be working with our block one students, creating curriculum for block 1 labs, coordinating clinicals, working with adjunct faculty, and working a few days a week with block 1 students in the lab.
This position can be active in lab, simulation, and clinical.
Everything from ensuring adjunct have the tools they need to assess student outcomes to running a clinical experience.Essential FunctionsInstructs a diverse population of students in a classroom, lab/simulation, and clinical settings.Instructs students on clinical orientation systems; develops written syllabi/course outlines and course materials; assesses student knowledge of subject matter.Engages in the academic life of the college by participating in district-wide and campus committees and activities; maintains office hours to assist and advise students.Develops and enhances knowledge of subject matter taught and individual training skills required to remain current with new trends and developments in the field and to promote the scholarship of teaching and learning through attendance at conferences, courses, seminars, and/or workshops.Minimum QualificationsA Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree plus three (3) years of experience as a professional nurse providing direct patient care, or a BSN and a graduate degree and two (2) years' experience as a professional nurse providing direct patient care, or a graduate degree in nursing and two (2) years of experience as a professional nurse providing direct patient care.Must hold an Arizona registered nurse license in good standing or multi-state privilege to practice in Arizona by the first day of employment.Must be able to meet health and safety requirements, including CPR certification, Fingerprint Clearance Card, and drug testing.Desired QualificationsExperience as a registered nurse with adult populationRecent practice in lab or clinical setting with the adult populationExperience teaching nursing students in the classroom, lab/simulation, and clinical settings in a college or nursing program.Experience working within a nursing lab, knowledge on curriculum alignment to clinical nursing experience, and student assessment.Experience working with and instructing individuals of various abilities and cultural backgrounds.Special Working ConditionsWorking in the classroom, lab/simulation, and various health care settings as a clinical nursing instructor, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and community agencies.
