We are a fast-growing, Shopify-based DTC health brand in the pain relief space, focused primarily on back pain and sciatica.
Our products are therapy-driven and positioned at the intersection of medical credibility and direct-response performance marketing.
We scale primarily through paid acquisition (Meta & Google), and long-form VSL creative (2–10+ minutes) is one of the core growth levers of our company.
Creative execution is not optional here. It directly impacts revenue.
We are now looking for a high-level Senior Video Editor who understands performance marketing and can execute long-form VSLs at a high standard.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for editing long-form VSLs (2–10+ minutes) and performance-driven paid ads across multiple platforms.
You must understand:
- Retention pacing
- Direct-response storytelling
- Visual hierarchy
- Conversion psychology
- Editing for watch time and sales, not just aesthetics
You will work directly with leadership and creative direction to turn scripts into high-performing acquisition assets.
Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
* 3–5+ years of professional video editing experience
* Proven experience editing long-form VSLs (portfolio required)
* Experience editing paid direct-response ads for DTC brands
* Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
* Strong proficiency in After Effects (or equivalent for motion graphics)
* Deep understanding of retention-based pacing and performance editing
* Ability to follow detailed creative briefs precisely
* Ability to take feedback quickly and iterate without ego
* High attention to detail and high production standards

Technical Skills Required
You must be able to execute:
* Long-form VSL editing (5–10+ minutes, narrative-driven)
* Motion graphics overlays
* Animated callouts and dynamic visual highlights
* Anatomical overlays (not developed from scratch) and concept-explainer visual effects
* Product-focused motion elements (outlines, glow effects, benefit visualizations)
* Pain-point animations (ex: radiating nerve pain)
* Clean subtitle systems and visual retention elements
* Seamless integration of b-roll, testimonials, AI voiceovers, and UGC content
You should understand how to visually reinforce claims and concepts without making content look exaggerated or gimmicky.
Bonus Points
* Experience editing in health, wellness, or medical-adjacent niches
* Experience with high-spend DTC brands
* Experience collaborating closely with copywriters and creative strategists
* Understanding of awareness levels and performance angles
* Familiarity with Slack, Notion, Frame.Io workflows
What You'll Be Doing
* Edit long-form VSLs used as primary acquisition creatives
* Edit short and mid-length paid ads derived from VSL content
* Add motion graphics and anatomical overlays to enhance clarity and perceived efficacy
* Translate scripts into visually engaging, high-retention video
* Maintain brand consistency across all edits
* Iterate based on performance data and feedback
* Deliver assets reliably and on schedule

* $2,000–$3,000 USD per month (based on experience)
