Role Overview
The Applications Engineer supports focuses on medium and large-scale data center cooling systems. This role plays a critical part in the pre-sales process, leading the configuration, design, and oversight of solutions including chillers, CDUs, Fan-Walls, CRAC and CRAH units, and advanced liquid cooling.
This position ensures technical solutions meet customer needs while aligning with company capabilities and sales strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
Main Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging product presentations and lead insightful solution discovery conversations.
* Configure and design data center cooling systems, including chillers, CDUs, Fan Walls, CRAC and CRAH units, and LiquidRack systems, based on customer requirements.
* Oversee the pre-sales process, including site evaluations, customer presentations, technical walkthroughs, and proposal development.
* Collaborate closely with sales teams to develop and deliver technical presentations that effectively communicate system capabilities and benefits to potential customers.
* Provide technical support to sales representatives and customers during the pre-sales phase, ensuring optimal system configuration and design.
* Conduct site assessments as needed to ensure proper system sizing and configuration for data center cooling needs.
* Prepare and review technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, submittal and proposals.
* Assist in the development of technical sales tools and resources, including case studies, white papers, and application notes.
* Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products
* Participate in training sessions, industry conferences, and customer meetings as required.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Mechanical Engineering degree required, Master's degree preferred.
* Minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience with a data center HVAC manufacturer.
* Proven record of accomplishment of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth in a competitive market environment.
* In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems and data center cooling technologies, including liquid cooling and air handling units.
* Proven experience conducting technical presentations and customer site walk-throughs.
* Proficiency in CAD software and data center modeling tools.
* Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.

* Ability to manage pre-sales system design, configuration, and documentation processes.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and credibility with C-level executives and technical stakeholders is preferred.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, can articulate complex technical concepts clearly and compellingly.
* Sound negotiation and consultative sales skills.
* Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset and a passion for driving innovation and value for customers.
* Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with entrepreneurship spirit to promote products from the early stage.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is preferred.
Work Environment & Travel
* Travel/visit required to customer sites, data centers, or partner facilities—travel may include overnight or extended stays.
* Local candidates are expected to work on-site at our São Paulo, Brazil office.
* Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, including during on-site facility tours.
