Lead Data Engineer Job Description
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our data engineering team in designing, developing, and delivering enterprise-grade data integration and analytics solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Optimize query and database performance to meet strict service level agreements (SLAs).
* Analyze execution plans and recommend indexing, partitioning, and optimization strategies.
* Partner with database administrators (DBAs) to validate and implement tuning recommendations.
* Oversee extract, transform, load (ETL)/extract, load, transform (ELT) workflows, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and data quality.
* Leverage Amazon Web Services (AWS) services for ingestion, transformation, and storage.
* Lead and mentor the team, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
* Translate technical decisions into clear explanations for both technical and business stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* 7+ years of experience in data engineering within enterprise-scale environments.
* Expertise in Oracle performance tuning, including query optimization, execution plans, indexes, partitioning, and parallelism.
* Hands-on experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
* Expertise in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
* Experience in data warehouse design, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling.
* Proven leadership experience, including team mentoring and technical guidance.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with DBAs, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
* Fluent in English.
