You will be responsible for academic delivery and ensure excellence in teaching, assessment, and teacher development.You will manage the teaching team, oversee lesson quality and assessment standards, and ensure that all academic processes align with industry best practices. You’ll play a critical role in teacher recruitment, training, curriculum development, and the ongoing professional development of our staff.Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic LeadershipProvide strategic academic direction Lead the development and continuous improvement of curricula and teaching resourcesMaintain and raise academic quality standards across the programmeTeam Management & DevelopmentRecruit, train, and manage a team of TEFL trainersMentor newly qualified trainers, providing structured onboarding and ongoing supportDeliver in-house training and CPD sessions for teaching and assessment staffObserve and assess teacher performance, offering developmental feedbackAssessment & Quality AssuranceDesign, implement, and maintain clear assessment rubrics aligned with learning objectivesMonitor assessment consistency and integrity across the teaching teamEnsure timely, constructive feedback is provided to learnersOperational OversightAllocate teaching and assessment assignments efficientlyManage timetabling logistics in line with teacher availability and learner demandCoordinate with internal teams (e.g. tech, admin, student support) to ensure smooth academic operationsUse IT systems (including ticket lines and online teaching platforms) to manage workflows and communicationProblem-Solving & CommunicationTake initiative in identifying and resolving academic or operational challengesCommunicate effectively with multiple departments to ensure alignment across functionsAdapt quickly to changing needs, especially during peak periods and across multiple time zonesRequirementsEssential:TEFL qualificationDELTA or DipTESOL qualified Extensive experience teaching General English to adults online & in-personProven track record in teacher training, mentoring, and academic leadershipExperience observing and assessing teaching practicesStrong background in academic scheduling and operationsStrong digital literacy and comfort using educational platforms and IT systemsExcellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced, remote working environmentDesirable:Previous experience as a Director of Studies or in a similar academic leadership roleExperience managing remote teams and asynchronous workflowsBackground in recruiting and managing academic staffWhat We OfferA senior leadership role in a dynamic, growing international education companyOpportunities for professional development and career progressionFully remote working arrangementFlexible working hours, particularly during off-peak periods
