Kaspersky is looking for a bright and motivated individual to assist with cybersecurity research and other activities. Our ideal candidate will be a great technical resource who has enrolled in a Computer Science or Cybersecurity course at an accredited university.
Key responsibilities include supporting research projects, developing processes, defining priorities, following deadlines, delivering material and sharing it with the right teams.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with stakeholders.
We are seeking someone with a strong desire to learn on their own and share their research with teammates.
Key skills and qualifications include:
* Interest in malware analysis and security research
* Knowledge of x86/x64 Intel Assembly
* Basic knowledge of WinAPI
* Executable file analysis skills in a hexadecimal editor
* Deep knowledge in several fields including mobile device security and mobile malware, statistical analysis, methods of protection against threats, security best practices, polymorphic malware, rootkits/bootkits, and Linux OS distributions
* Ability to analyze and understand malicious code and non-standard threats
In addition, the ideal candidate will have good communication skills, presentation skills, and experience in developing tools and documentation for other researchers.
This is an internship position for University Students. Preferred candidates are students enrolled at an accredited University who are studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity or similar.
The selected candidate will participate in various research projects and learn firsthand how to proper Malware Analysis, Reverse Engineering, and APT/Crimeware Threat Intelligence.
They will also have great interaction with stakeholders including local team members throughout the Americas.
The selected candidate will be able to work on-site at our office when needed and have adequate transportation to the office.
Travel to conferences to give presentations is optional, but always encouraged.
This role requires fluency in English and the ability to communicate effectively with developers, analysts, researchers, marketing, PR, sales and other teams using the same language.
The ideal candidate should have high ethical standards and a deep understanding of the IT Security industry and business.
