Project context and scope: The IOM in Brazil is implementing a socio-economic integration project for migrants and refugees, aiming to promote the social and economic inclusion of this population by ensuring access to employment opportunities, income generation, and public services. In this context, partnerships are established with the private sector, government bodies, and civil society actors, with the purpose of encouraging inclusive practices that facilitate labor market insertion and the integration of migrants and refugees.
The project also focuses on the promotion and strengthening of public policies targeting the migrant population, providing technical support to municipal and state governments in the formulation and implementation of migration governance strategies that address issues related to employment, social assistance, health, education, and housing. Additionally, it seeks to enhance the capacities of municipalities and local networks through training, knowledge exchange, and the dissemination of good practices on the integration and social inclusion of migrants in vulnerable situations.
The project further emphasizes the integration of priority groups, such as women, youth, and vulnerable families, and aims to ensure long-term sustainable impact through the strengthening of institutional capacities and the promotion of inclusive public policies that consolidate the integration of the migrant population in Brazil.
