The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial planning, and internal controls, with the ability to manage a small finance team and implement best practices for a scaling organization.Location: Remote, must be available 9am - 5pm ESTResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & ReportingManage financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.Oversee all accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.Manage cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.Strategic Planning & AnalysisProvide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership for strategic decision-making.Support the development of financial models for business planning and forecasting.Conduct profitability analyses for different service lines and business units.Internal Controls & ComplianceDevelop and maintain strong internal control procedures.Coordinate annual audits with external auditors.Monitor and ensure compliance with tax laws, corporate governance, and financial regulations.Team Leadership & CollaborationLead and mentor a small finance team, ensuring professional growth and high performance.Collaborate with department heads to develop budgets and cost control measures.Partner with operations and legal teams to ensure accurate billing and case-related financial reporting.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacityExpertise in financial reportingStrong understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial compliance requirementsDeep understanding of regulatory requirements, compliance, and financial best practicesExperience with Rippling (HRIS) and QuickBooks Online (Accounting) preferred, but not requiredExperience in professional services, legal, or consulting industry preferred but not requiredBenefitsUncapped quarterly profit-sharing bonuses based on company performance100% company-paid monthly premiums for Fortune 500 level quality insurance plans for you and any/all dependents (US based employees):medical (Aetna)dental (Guardian)vision (Guardian)100% company match on any employee contributions to either HSA or FSA flex benefits plans (US based employees):$500 free FSA company contribution, even if $0 employee contribution401k plan with full company match of up to 6% of salary and no vesting period required (US based employees)Unlimited paid time off with planned role/responsibilities coverageWork from home equipment budget (at company\'s discretion)Forever remote work environmentWhy Join Us?At Tort Experts, we believe in empowering our team members with growth opportunities, a flexible work environment, and the chance to make a tangible impact.
