Senior Database Specialist
This is a challenging position that requires a seasoned engineer with a focus on database-centric solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing and evolving database schemas, optimizing performance, and ensuring data integrity and security.
The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining database architectures, as well as ensuring the availability and scalability of database systems. The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing strategies to improve efficiency.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Database Design and Optimization
* Design, evolve, and optimize database schemas, indexes, queries, and stored procedures
* Ensure data integrity, security, and operational excellence throughout the application lifecycle
* Owning database cost management in Azure, including sizing, scaling strategies, and cost optimization
* Manage availability, backup/restore, disaster recovery, and survivability strategies in Azure SQL
* Monitor and proactively address performance bottlenecks, deadlocks, blocking, and resource contention
