Database Administrator
The role of a Database Administrator is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of databases, maintaining their availability targets, and providing on-call support to products 24/7.
Main Responsibilities:
* Investigate and resolve database queries and problems, recommending solutions that consider system impact analysis.
* Implement, support, and run production schema changes across various Experian UK DBMS systems.
* Contribute to achieving agreed-upon availability targets for production database systems, collaborating with EITS System DBAs.
* Schedule and support routine DBMS application data housekeeping activities within Experian UK.
* Deliver projects according to agreed time, cost, and quality while controlling scope.
* Elevate issues to line managers with recommended solutions and take action where authorized.
* Provide technical updates regarding activities to management, team members, department personnel, and other divisions.
About the Role:
* This position requires at least 3 years of experience administering Oracle RDBMS in a production or operational environment.
* Familiarity with Oracle Disaster Recovery and High Availability technologies (RMAN, RAC, Dataguard) is essential.
* Experience working within an ITIL-style process framework (Change, Incident, and Problem Management) is required.
* Good communication skills are necessary for sharing experiences and asking/receiving assistance from team members or project groups.
* The ability to explain complex solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences is vital.
