Senior LATAM Government Relations & Public Policy Advisor
We are seeking a senior-level Government Relations & Public Policy professional to join our dynamic External Relations team as our expert in São Paulo. This is a unique opportunity for a well-connected, strategic thinker to help shape Bloomberg's engagement with key stakeholders across Latin America, with a particular focus on Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and Chile.
This role is at the intersection of policy, finance, and technology. You will work closely with Bloomberg's senior leadership, product teams, and external partners to support our business goals by building trusted relationships, facilitating dialogue, and staying ahead of key policy trends impacting our clients and our operations.
What You'll Do
Lead Bloomberg's engagement with government officials, public institutions, and industry groups in LATAM, focusing on fostering relationships, building alliances, and driving impactful conversations.
Represent Bloomberg in strategic forums, roundtables, and public-private dialogues to enhance our presence and influence in key policy discussions.
Monitor political and policy/regulatory developments in Brazil and the wider LATAM region to inform internal stakeholders and contribute to Bloomberg's positioning on relevant issues.
Collaborate with a global team of regulatory experts to help navigate the complex regulatory environment in LATAM's capital markets.
Organize and support high-level events, briefings, and thought leadership opportunities involving policymakers, regulators, financial market leaders, and Bloomberg experts.
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Bloomberg, providing insights on the evolving political and policy environment.
Coordinate with teams across Legal, Compliance, Product, Risk, and Sales to ensure aligned external engagement strategies.
What You Bring
8+ years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or public policy, preferably within a multinational company, industry association, consultancy, or government/regulatory agency.
Strong network and deep understanding of the political and institutional landscape in key LATAM markets, including government, regulatory, and financial market actors, as well as international bodies like IOSCO.
Deep knowledge of financial markets regulation, including key workstreams of Finance Ministries, Central Banks, and Securities Regulators in areas such as market structure, trading, risk management, data, and digital finance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and build strong cross-sector relationships.
A passion for public policy, finance, and technology, with the ability to connect these areas effectively.
Experience in organizing and speaking at high-level events or convening roles is advantageous.
Fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
