Position Summary
* Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems during the development and application of new and improved products and processes.
* Establishes best practices that incorporate Reliability, Health, Safety, and Environment concepts to guide others in analysis and design.
* Evaluates proposed theoretical results to meet design requirements.
* Serves as a technical expert to other employees to solvecomplex system equations and develops custom equations to simplify complex problems by using advanced engineering tools.
* Serves as a technical expert by coaching, developing, and reviewing work from other employees.
* Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross- disciplinary teams.
* Significantly contributes to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property portfolio by delivering innovative and commercially successful solutions.
* Work across multiple teams located in different countries (Brazil, US, Singapore, India).
* Work close to the Mechanical Engineering team, Systems Engineer, and the Project Manager at the Halliburton Technology Center in Brazil (HBTC).
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
* Completion of a master’s or doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred.
* 5 years of experience in R&D is preferred.
* Experience in design of complex systems solutions including several engineering disciplines for Oil & Gas, mining and/or aerospace industry.
* Experience in designing solutions for subsea applications and well control involving multiple disciplines.
* Experience in designing solutions for well intervention applications involving multiple disciplines.
* Ability to provide guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers as needed.
* Experience defining requirements and reviewing proposals from third party (manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers).
* Knowledge and experience in Risk Assessment, FMEA, other reliability tools.
* Advanced knowledge of SolidWorks and Ansys (CAD and FEA).
* Advanced knowledge to apply principles of mechanics (static and dynamic), hydraulics, and materials.
* Experience in mechanical design, fluid mechanics, structural analysis, and/or material science.
* Knowledge and working experience in oil field equipment.
* Knowledge in designing system automation using robotics is desirable.
