Podcast Audio Editor Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for editing podcast audio files, enhancing sound quality, implementing sound design, adding music and ensuring overall quality control for each episode.
* Edit raw podcast audio into polished, broadcast-ready episodes
* Remove filler words, false starts, redundancies and off-topic tangents
* Improve pacing, clarity and flow without changing the speaker's voice or intent
* Restructure sections when needed based on how questions were answered
* Insert intro/outro, sponsor reads, disclaimers or updates when required
* Follow embedded audio notes and written instructions carefully
* Deliver clean final WAV/MP3 files on deadline
* Produce 3-4 short clips per episode for marketing use
* Support up to two rounds of edits per episode when requested
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need excellent editing skills, a keen ear for sound quality and attention to detail. Experience with podcast production software is essential.
