Recruiting process will be in EnglishThe Team: You will report to the Analytical Manager for Global Scale Ratings, Latin America, and be working closely with a number of highly experienced industry specialists, not only in Latin America but globally.The Global Infrastructure Practice was established by S&P Global Ratings to expand our ratings franchise in an area of strong growth and to leverage our significant global infrastructure expertise across the full range of infrastructure and energy asset classes. By supporting capital markets, S&P Global Ratings helps people grow businesses, cities and states to build highways and hospitals, and manufacturers to build factories and create jobs.The successful applicant will have the opportunity to expand further analytical excellence on an ongoing basis as we aim to encompass achievement within a working environment that is rewarding, stimulating and where there is a constant focus on building skills and competencies through learning.As a Senior Analyst, you will have direct analytical responsibility for a portfolio of credits, and be responsible for conducting credit and financial analysis, reviewing, researching and managing data/transaction documents, running credit models, analyzing cash flows, and preparing analytical documentation. You will be expected to provide analytical reasoning in committees and discussion within the team, and to act proactively toward resolution of issues, to investigate root causes for problems, solving and be knowledgeable on the appropriate criteria. You will develop and maintain a deep understanding of the industry trends and issues. As new asset classes evolve, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of different proposals.English language skills must be excellent in order to communicate properly and precisely within the organization and publish research as discussed above. Spanish language skills will also be highly desirable.Responsibilities:Ownership of a portfolio of creditsArranging review meetings for all entities assigned in line with our surveillance standardsUnderstanding financial statements and preparing detailed forecastsSummarizing findings and conclusions (including rating implications) at management meetings and discuss with managementIndependently preparing and presenting analysis and recommendations to credit committeesActively participating in committeesUndertaking research in support of S&P Global Ratings published commentariesCommunicating market players for rating rationale and criteria applicationActively managing relationships with issuers, intermediaries and investorsUnderstanding and implementing S&P’s policies and proceduresBasic Qualifications:A bachelor’s degree holder of Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related subjectSolid experience (3+ years) within a large commercial bank, investment bank, investing institution/asset manager, rating agency, or an audit company working in the field of financial analysisUnderstanding of the power, utilities or infrastructure asset classesStrong analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial statement analysis and accounting conceptsProficiency with calculations and the ability to maintain accuracy and be detail oriented while complying with strict and tight deadlinesAbility to multi-task and manage deadlines under time pressureExperience in managing, interpreting, and synthesizing data for analytical purposesStrong interpersonal and communication skillsTeam player with excellent time management skillsFluent in English. Advanced Spanish is a plus.Excel skills (including formulas, vlookups, pivot tables, data, filters)Preferred Qualifications:MBA or master’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics and/or CFAStrong proficiency with Excel & VBA, financial models and financial dataStrong PowerPoint and database application skillsKnowledge of programming languages (e.g. C++, MATLAB, Python, R or VBA)Prior experience with data analysis. Knowledge of SQL and experience in databases such as Oracle, Sybase, or Access would be helpfulProficiency/familiarity in reading legal documentation.Location: Sao Paulo, BrazilAll employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office.
