Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Laboratorista II to join our team in Conceicao do Mato Dentro, Brazil. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will play a crucial role in conducting precise analyses and maintaining high-quality standards in our mining and geological sample testing processes.
* Perform complex chemical and physical analyses on various geological and mining samples
* Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment and instruments
* Prepare samples for analysis according to established protocols
* Conduct quality control checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results
* Record, manage, and interpret analytical data using laboratory information management systems
* Adhere to and enforce safety regulations and environmental compliance standards
* Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other team members to support mining operations
* Assist in developing and optimizing laboratory procedures and methodologies
* Train and mentor junior laboratory personnel as needed
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and effectiveness
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in mining or geological industries
* Proficiency in operating and maintaining various laboratory equipment and instruments
* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
* Excellent data management and record-keeping abilities
* Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
* Knowledge of quality control procedures and ISO standards
* Understanding of Brazilian environmental regulations related to laboratory operations
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills in Portuguese; English proficiency is a plus
* Willingness to work in Conceicao do Mato Dentro and adapt to local conditions
* Relevant laboratory certifications (e.g., ISO standards) are preferred
