Job Summary: The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and reporting of the renewable energy company. This role includes managing the accounting team, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, preparing financial statements, and supporting strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in the renewable energy sector being a significant advantage. Key Job Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely monthly and quarterly US GAAP reporting to the Corporate team for regulatory SEC filings. Prepare and present accurate and timely statutory financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and local GAAP Accounting Operations: Oversee general ledger, transaction services (accounts receivable, accounts payable), product costing, revenue recognition, and monthly and quarterly reporting, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and local statutory requirements. Manage the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Implement and maintain robust internal controls over financial reporting to ensure accurate financial reporting and controls to safeguard company assets (including the oversight of account reconciliations). Budgeting and Forecasting: Support FP& A, as needed, on annual budgets and quarterly forecast. Collaborate with FP& A to analyze variances between actual and budgeted financial results and provide insights to management. Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and manage external audits and tax preparation. Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and filings. Maintain compliance with industry-specific regulations, including those related to renewable energy incentives and grants. Special Projects: Lead and participate in special projects, including system implementations, process improvements, and strategic initiatives. Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting and finance systems, processes, and efficiency. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred. Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role. Experience in the renewable energy sector is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS and financial reporting. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP). Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
