Job Summary:
Caterpillar is looking for a Senior IT Infrastructure Analyst who consults and leads projects for a wide range of technology-related issues for internal and external customers while adhering to standards and processes.
What You Will Do:
1. Consult on client requirements and propose technology solutions and business cases; guide in evaluating, selecting, and utilizing new and existing tools and techniques.
2. Provide subject-matter expertise and solutions on comprehensive technology issues for internal and external customers.
3. Lead the design, testing, and technology implementation of technical projects while collaborating with senior IT staff.
4. Ensure that the design and implementation of technologies are in compliance with existing standards and processes.
5. Provide ongoing L3 support to L1/L2 analysts to promptly address business-critical incidents and service requests.

Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Technology Advising: Knowledge of effective advisory methods and ability to provide valued information and advice to clients regarding products, technologies, services and solutions for a specific technology domain.
Hardware Infrastructure: Knowledge of computer architecture and systems programming; ability to design, build and integrate IT hardware into multi-platforms for the organization.
Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.
Systems Software Infrastructure: Knowledge of computer architecture and system software interaction; ability to design and build a fundamental architecture of operating systems, database management systems, communications protocols, compilers and other development tools.
Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.
Technical Writing/Documentation: Knowledge of technical writing; ability to write technical documents such as manuals, reports, guidelines or documents on standards, processes and applications.
Top Candidates will have:
6. Bachelors degree in Information Technology or IT related areas.
7. Knowledge of RedHat OpenShift, container technology, Apache, Tomcat, WebSphere, Introscope, and Linux OS; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
8. Experience with Red Hat OpenShift product Version 4.x.
9. Experience with container technology, OpenShift Container Platform, and Kubernetes.
10. Experience building Podman images with knowledge of Tomcat and Apahce.
11. In-depth knowledge of the Linux operating system.
12. Experience securing Cloud Formation/Terraform IaC
13. Proficiency in measuring and securing IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments in AWS and Azure
14. Experience with Python, YAML, and JSON
15. Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and most CSP-native security tools such as Service Control Policies, CloudWatch, Control Tower, or Azure Security Center
16. Experience working in container platform monitoring and alerts for resource availability, such as Introscope.
17. Experience with WebSphere
18. Experience collaborating across teams to consolidate and simplify DevOps tools and services.
19. An accredited, four-year Information Technology degree, a closely related
technical degree, OR 6 years of equivalent work-related experiences with an Associates Degree preferred
20. Advanced English.
