About This Role
Patent Paralegal Project Managers play a vital role in the patent translation, foreign filing, and intellectual property processes. They oversee and manage patent filing requests, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to scope, and high-quality standards.
This is a full-time remote position with working hours in Pacific Standard Time (United States time zone). Candidates must commit to working Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm PST.
Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required for this role as you will be working with English-speaking teammates and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparing Documents: Preparing all documents required in connection with EP, PCT, and foreign applications.
* Initiating Responses: Proactively initiating the preparation of responses to official communications and notifications.
* Filing and Correspondence: Coordinating filings of EP/international and foreign patent applications and related correspondence from filing to issuance of grant.
* Monitoring Deadlines: Monitoring all assigned cases and proactively ensuring that all related deadlines are met in a timely manner.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
A successful Patent Paralegal Project Manager should possess strong organizational, leadership, and management abilities. Experience managing complex projects, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a successful track record of collaboration with diverse stakeholders are also essential.
* Experience: 1-2 years of experience as a patent paralegal in either a law firm or corporate setting.
* Application Knowledge: Experience working with EP, PCT, and foreign applications.
* Organizational Abilities: Strong organizational, leadership, and management abilities.
* Project Management: Significant experience managing complex projects.
* Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Collaboration: Successful track record of successful collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with additional experience implementing translation tools into existing workflows, comfort working with CAT tools (memoQ fluency a plus), and ability to define processes and standards for translation and quality assurance are preferred.
