Responsibility
Responsibility to provide technical support for ifm solutions during the whole sales process as well as after sales.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with sales engineers and customers to support the sales process for ifm solutions. Support will include product presentations, validating solutions with customers during proof of concept, troubleshooting, technical problems and providing ongoing sales support, e.g. commissioning and training of both customers and sales engineers.
* In collaboration with the Product Sales Manager (PSM) the Technical Consultant is responsible for supporting the product launch of products in focus.
* Implementation, integration and testing software on own initiative and put it into operation in the plant.
* Provide technical support during the whole sales process as well as after sales.
* Apply a comprehensive understanding of ifm complete product portfolio including principle of operation, functionality and benefits and application feasibility. This will build customer confidence and enable you to proactively identify and resolve technical application challenges.
* Maintain a high level of motivation and commitment to helping the local sales team with promotion of ifm innovative solutions. Need to conduct training on products, applications, sales tools, project quotes, and sales arguments.
* Make joint calls (digital and in-person) with ifm sales team and trade partners to build their confidence and help to "close" the business.
* Use digital tools (CRM, ifm web page, video conferences) in a very efficient way.
* Travel to customer sites; approximately 35% to 40% of the corresponding year.
Qualification / Skills
* Bachelor of Science in Control & Automation, Electrical Engineering or in a related discipline
* Practical hands‑on experience with industrial controls and automation technologies, preferably in the areas of technical problem solving and controls architecture
* Strong proficiency in programming languages used in PLC, HMI and SCADA platform development
* Proficiency with data exchange between automation and information technology through communication protocols such as OPC, MQTT and HTTP and platforms like Node-RED, Grafana etc.
* Excellent presentation, interpersonal, writing and technical problem‑solving skills
* Strong team and customer orientation
* Good English level (min. B2 level/European reference or similar)
