Lead Public Relations Strategist
This is a unique opportunity to lead public relations and corporate communications efforts for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027. As a senior-level professional, you will be responsible for maximizing awareness and aims of the tournament in Brazil and South America through PR campaigns, media relationships, client and agency management, interviews, consistency with FIFA's strategic goals, and PR events.
Job Description
The Lead Public Relations Strategist will oversee a central Public Relations Division, coordinate with internal stakeholders, host cities, and media across South America, and implement key strategies to enhance tournament visibility and fan engagement. This role will connect content, social media, and video initiatives while leveraging tools to measure success and drive aligned messaging.
Key Responsibilities
* Public Relations: Develop and execute PR campaigns to maximize awareness and aims of the tournament in Brazil and South America.
* Communications: Maintain the tournament's reputation through consistent communications strategies, aligned with FIFA's values and principles.
* Media Relations: Oversee media relations to promote the event and showcase FIFA's role as a modern, dynamic, and trustworthy sports organization.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A minimum of 10 years experience in communications & PR, with experience in similar leadership positions.
* Familiarity with the world of football and a passion for women's football.
* Fluent in English (spoken and written) and Portuguese (spoken and written).
* Spanish language skills are an asset.
* Able and willing to travel up to 50% of the year.
* Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
* Right to work in Brazil.
