We are recognized worldwide for our expertise in ports, terminals, and coastal engineering solutions. We are actively seeking a Project Manager to join our São Paulo office. As part of the Civil/Geotechnical Group, the Project Manager will lead the design of major port and waterfront projects, including those associated with offshore wind, ports, piers, marinas, cargo terminals, and urban waterfront developments. This role will support projects across Brazil, the northeast region, and firm-wide initiatives.
Beyond Project Delivery, This Position Is Intended To
Bring civil and geotechnical expertise to strengthen the Brazil office.
Serve as a key connector between the Brazil civil/structural team and other global offices.
Facilitate workshare opportunities, enabling projects to be executed collaboratively across regions.
Duties And Responsibilities
Project management of complex and multidisciplinary projects
Coordinate geotechnical design with staff along with other disciplines to meet project schedules, budgets, and ensure quality assurance and quality control
Perform analysis and design of deep foundations for Civil, Marine and DOD projects as needed
Coordinate civil design involving drainage, pavement, architecture and others with other disciplines to meet project schedules, budgets, and ensure quality assurance and quality control
Review test results and make recommendations
Development of contract documents, including construction drawings and technical specifications
Preparation of design reports
Preparation of proposals and direct interface with clients, agencies, and subconsultants or contractors
Perform business development activities, especially in regards of other MN offices, and participate in professional organizations
Perform periodic site visits and attend client meetings
Collaborate with geotechnical team, managers, and company executives to assist with the growth of the group
Ability to effectively work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Perform other tasks as needed

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; required
Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, preferred
Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port & Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE) certification in the Port Engineering category preferred
10 to 15 years of related engineering experience with proven success as a Project Manager
Experience with waterfront infrastructure projects highly desired
Experience effectively interacting with staff, management, vendors, contractors, clients and agencies
Proven success in business development efforts
Strong communication skills written, oral and presentation
Willingness and availability to travel approximately 15%
All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
Working Conditions
Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
