Job Description:
The Strategic Operations Buyer for General Services is responsible for the execution of the strategies and buying activities in terms of costs, quality, risk, sustainability and availability for several sites across Mexico, Brazil & Caribbean and Central America supporting both segments Pet Nutrition and Mars Wrigley and reporting directly to the Regional Strategic Operations Manager for General Services
This role is responsible to execute the different workstreams for General Services in categories such as Benefits, P&O Services, Relocation, Executive Research, Facility Management, as well as delivering a continuous supply of cost-effective, service orientated, timely and responsiveness in the area of General Services. He/she will work closely with P&O, S&F and Supply to drive the efficient and effective implementation of sourcing strategies and manages supplier performance on a day to day basis, acts as the first point of contact for suppliers. This position is responsible to connect and align with local, regional and global key stakeholders for Business Services.
This role is also responsible for optimizing investments in terms of cost, quality, risk and availability as per the Mars Commercial policy and its processes as well as within an ethics and Governance framework.
He /She will be responsible (externally) for identifying, developing and maintaining the relevant Business Services supplier sourcing options and ensuring supplier performance (SRM).
The role has no direct reports, however has extensive and influencing responsibilities with internal stakeholders educating to follow process and partner to implement new catalogues, sourcing strategies as well new business opportunities.
What are we looking for?
* Execute the defined workstreams for General Services in the region
* Data collection, SME interviews, and on-going support on SOW/legal administration
* Purchase Goods and Services by securing price, capacity & service levels in line with commitments to the business and as per the sourcing strategies by applying a wide range of sourcing tools (e.g. negotiation, e-procurement, strategic collaboration, scale, market knowledge, MSSM, etc.)
* Implement supply base strategy - Assess and develop suppliers in order to meet business needs and opportunities where Business Services are needed.
* Establish & maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as P&O, Finance, Benefits, Sales, Corporate Affairs, Supply and their teams to ensure understanding of their needs and to facilitate the appropriate level of challenge.
* Ensure effective risk management of the supply base, through robust contracts and monitoring of financial and other KPIs. Implement corrective actions as appropriate. Manage all related commercial, financial & ethical aspects of supply
* Participate in team knowledge transfer - Collaborate with other General Services buyers to create synergies across countries and segments.
* Lead sourcing activities that include vendor/distributor selection, negotiation, contracts and supplier management.
* Assure and obtain Savings and Cash Release targets and report them through SIEVO.
* Ensure compliance with Governance - proper procedures, policies, systems and controls.
* Participate actively into the Latin American team meetings
* Negotiate the best possible Commercial terms of payment with vendors. Execute supplier financing program with existing and new suppliers (120 days of payment)
* Influence directors, managers and peers to create strategies and align with local buying proposals.
* Create and share comparison cost and service tables/figures in order to provide a guideline to support the decision-making process to select a vendor for any specific service or item, involving the end user in this process.
* Manage crisis when a contract termination is required, or support business when critical situation come up.
* Provide assertive recommendation and or commercial drivers to the business considering aspects of different cultures and location.
* Negotiate long term contracts/catalogues of goods/services in different currencies, language and legal regulations.
* Stablish periodic meetings within the key stakeholders from LA to give visibility of work and partner with priorities.
