We are hiring for a USA company: Senior Database Engineer / Lead DBA (DB2 LUW & Cloud Migration) – Bilingual (EN/PT) About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Global Mainframe DB2 LUW team. This is not a typical application development role; we are looking for a \"under-the-hood\" expert who understands database internals, performance optimization, and the complexities of migrating data between NoSQL and Relational environments. As a technical lead, you will manage high-stakes backend operations, automate audit compliance, and guide the team through complex data mapping and environment refreshes. What You Will Do Core Administration: Perform deep-dive backend management of DB2 LUW (Linux, Unix, Windows) environments. Environment Management: Execute test environment refreshes and manage data flow from Archive (AR) environments into active test streams. Modernization & Migration: Lead the charge in migrating data from NoSQL to Relational databases, focusing on complex data mapping, relationship building, and schema design. Cloud & NoSQL: Manage tasks related to AWS RDS and NoSQL platforms, ensuring high availability and performance. Automation & Compliance: Develop automation scripts for audit compliance and security protocols. Performance Tuning: Act as the subject matter expert for advanced SQL tuning and database optimization. Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior and mid-level engineers. Required Qualifications Language: Native or professional fluency in both English and Portuguese is mandatory. Mainframe DB2 LUW Expertise in DB2 LUW: Extensive experience in backend DB2 LUW administration (not just interfacing via apps). Migration Experience: Proven track record of migrating data between different architectures (Relational vs. NoSQL). Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with Amazon RDS and NoSQL databases. Advanced Tuning: Expert-level ability to diagnose and resolve complex SQL performance issues. Location: Remote friendly—we value your skillset over your physical location.
