The Middle School Music & Drama Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate music and drama instruction that fosters creativity, confidence, collaboration, and artistic expression. This role supports students musical and theatrical development through classroom instruction, performances, and interdisciplinary learning experiences aligned with an international, inquiry-based curriculum.Responsabilidades e atribuiçõesPlan, prepare, and deliver high-quality music and drama lessons for Middle School students.Develop units that integrate music, drama, movement, voice, and performance skills.Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.Use a variety of instructional strategies to promote student engagement, creativity, and critical thinking.Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback.Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and respect.Apply restorative practices and constructive conflict-resolution techniques when needed.Effectively manage student behavior to promote learning and a safe environment for all.Implement the schools curriculum framework and contribute to its ongoing development.Prepare, participate and lead a variety student performances, showcases, assemblies, and school events.Provide meaningful assessments and feedback on student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with families.Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and learning goals.Participate actively in professional development, faculty meetings, and school-wide initiatives.Contribute to school events, assemblies, field trips, and interdisciplinary projects when applicable.Collaborate with Middle School teachers, specialists, and leadership.Contribute to the MS Community and our Advisory programCultural Sensitivity: Foster an inclusive classroom that respects and celebrates cultural diversity.Requisitos e qualificaçõesBachelors degree in Music, Drama, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field.Valid teaching certification/license (Licenciatura).A masters degree is preferred.Advanced Portuguese; English proficiency desirable for communication in an international school environment.Ability to play one or more musical instruments and/or direct theatrical productions.
