General job description: Makes efficient and safe delivery and collection of parcels and freight, accompanied by a handler on road while representing the company in a professional manner.Operates smaller and larger cargo vehicles (non-articulated) safely and efficiently, complying with all government and corporate procedures.Makes an accurate and timely selection and inspection of the assigned packages and the subsequent report of stop and failure counts.Seeks additional business from current customers, attempts to gain new business (passes leads to sales department), and informs sales department of significant changes in customer use/competitor's actions.Answers customer questions on FedEx feature of service and keeps customers informed about the company and its services.Ensures that packages conform to FedEx features of service; that proper labeling in provided; and that all paperwork is complete, neat, and accurate.Determines legality of packages including special requirements for dangerous goods and international shipments and separates packages by service type and destination in accordance with established procedures.Scans packages according to prescribed procedures and demonstrates proficiency in features of service and equipment.Ensures customers have adequate supply of FedEx materials for shipping.Meets aircraft and transports packages as required for sorting operations.Loads and unloads company vehicles and operates mechanized ramp equipment to load and unload packages.Cleans, washes, and performs minor maintenance to company vehicles as necessary and maintains neat and clean personal appearance to uphold company's public image.May perform other activities as assignedMinimum Requirements:Minimum Education: Elementary School diplomaBasic English skills preferredMinimum Experience: One (1) year professional driving experienceMust possess appropriate license for vehicle assigned in accordance with specific country regulationsGood driving recordMust be 21 years old or olderMinimum Required Skills: Driver's License Type C, D or E Vintage.Ability to lift 70 lbs.
