OverviewThe Pictsweet Company is looking for experienced Refrigeration Technicians.
The qualified candidate must be able to operate, troubleshoot, and repair ammonia refrigeration system equipment/machinery in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and other industrial standards.ResponsibilitiesOperate refrigeration system compressors, defrost systems, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, motors, and other controls as needed.Operate and maintain facility steam boilers, auxiliary steam equipment, and water treatment systems.Repair valves, fans, pumps, conveyor belts, air compressors, water systems, boiler systems, and related components.Monitor systems by observing gauges, instrumentation, liquid levels, temperatures, and pressure systems.Repair and replace refrigeration components as needed.Log and record pressures, temperatures, gas, and water meter readings.Perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration equipment as per the Process Safety Management program.Operate the ammonia refrigeration system safely, following the Process Safety Management Program.Follow all safety guidelines established by the company.Maintain clean, organized work areas.Assist other departments as needed.Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) before starting work.Pass a pulmonary test and be a responder on the HAZMAT team.QualificationsEducation:Vocational training is a plus.Experience: At least three (3) years of industrial experience operating ammonia refrigeration units.Language Skills:Bilingual in English and Spanish.Ability to read and interpret safety signs, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.Other:Ability to work 12-hour shifts, 6-7 days a week, including weekends and holidays.Willingness to work rotating shifts.Knowledge of safe use of power tools, hand tools, and other equipment related to ammonia refrigeration.
